With more than 45 years in the sign industry, Nancy Wilde Vernon, BC–based, is a master craftsperson whose career spans the full evolution of commercial sign making. She began in 1981 as a shop helper at Baker Signs, quickly developing expertise in hand lettering, silk screening, spray painting, and early electrical sign fabrication.

Nancy went on to establish Wilde Imagination Sign & Design, a commercial shop known for hand‑painted, dimensional, sandblasted, and carved signage. After selling the business and spending time working within other companies, she has returned to operating her own sign shop, continuing to create work rooted in craftsmanship and tradition, while also embracing new technologies and materials. 

Over the past decade, Nancy has expanded into dimensional signage using carved Styrofoam, high‑density urethane, and most recently, hand‑carved concrete. Her commitment to continuous learning has led her to workshops in CNC router work, sculptural techniques, and emerging fabrication methods.

Driven by curiosity and a deep respect for the heritage of sign making, Nancy continues to blend traditional skills with modern materials—keeping the craft alive while inspiring the next generation of sign makers.
